Lead Occupational Therapist

About the Role
 
As a Lead OT you will role-model how to complete the occupational therapy process using independent decision- making skills within complex and unpredictable contexts and possess advanced knowledge and critical understanding. You will be able to appropriately challenge professional boundaries; collaborate with others on strategy and succession planning around quality improvement (including design and capacity building); manage and evaluate service delivery outcomes to increase organisational presence and supervise, support, and mentor staff/learners and intuitively self-develop.
 
The role will incorporate a small mixed caseload of clients that receive funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Home Care Packages, with additional work provided under the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, foster collaboration, and integration, and motivate a team in a multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary environment.
• Demonstrated people skills, including communication and conflict resolution required to deliver and foster relationships within a team.
• Well-developed customer service skills and a commitment to providing quality service and implementing continuous improvement.
• Bachelor /Masters Occupational Therapy
• AHPRA registration
• Drivers Licence
• Demonstrated skill in supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff
• A sound knowledge and understanding of vision impairment and empathy for people who are blind or vision impaired is highly desirable but not essential.
