About the role
Temporary part time opportunity within a case management model to deliver high quality, evidence based Occupational Therapy services to adolescents (aged 14-17 years inclusive) with severe and complex mental health disorders requiring hospital-based assessment and treatment. The role works within the multidisciplinary team and care is delivered with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma-informed rehabilitation framework. This position also provides clinical practice and professional supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapists to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the service, commensurate with experience.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team, deliver contemporary high-level competent care coordination and clinical occupational therapy services that are based on valid and reliable evidence, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, and performed with a high degree of independence.
- Utilise effective communication skills to optimise clinical outcomes and work cooperatively and effectively with consumers and carers; the multidisciplinary team; other Hospital and Health Services including child and youth mental health services; government and non-government support agencies, General Practitioners, and Private Practitioners.
- Provide quality leadership and participate in the identification, development, and implementation of quality, service improvement and research activities within the Mental Health Service that continually improve consumer care and enhance the delivery of services within a multidisciplinary team and the service.
