We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to lead this innovative service and provide advanced clinical leadership in a non-clinical, peer-supported environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of mental health reform—supporting individuals in crisis while collaborating across emergency and community services.

About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will:

  • Provide clinical oversight and risk management within the CSS.
  • Support and mentor Peer Workers and non-clinical staff.
  • Deliver basic mental health triage and ensure appropriate referrals for clinical care.
  • Collaborate closely with the Emergency Department, Acute Care Team, and other services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Foster strong relationships with service providers to enhance referral pathways and treatment access.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment that upholds the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers.
  • Lead quality improvement and research initiatives to evaluate and evolve the service.

What’s on offer?

  • Permanent full-time or part-time position — hours negotiable to suit your lifestyle
  • Remuneration package up to $157,360 p.a. (f/t), including:
Base salary / 12.75% employer superannuation contribution / 17.5% recreational leave loading
  • Generous leave entitlements
  • On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)
  • Salary packaging options to boost take-home pay
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance
  • Access to staff wellness programs
  • supportive workplace environment with strong team culture
  • Professional development leave and allowance
  • Opportunities for supervision, leadership, and career progression
  • Be part of a pioneering mental health initiative

What You’ll Need

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and registration with AHPRA.

Highly Regarded

  • Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016, or a demonstrated commitment to completing the requirements for appointment.
  • Experience supporting crisis care initiatives or working within alternative service models such as peer-supported, non-clinical environments.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a cutting-edge crisis support initiative
  • Work in a collaborative, consumer-focused environment
  • Make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals
